Any Morrowind fans out there?
The reason why I am asking is that I was wondering if anyone knew if the same person who did the music for Morrowind did the music for Guild Wars. There are a lot of similarities between the two.
I doubt anyone knows this, but if you do you win this prize. Dog not included. Ahh hell I'll throw in the dog with the deal too.

Morrowind was good, but hard to get back into after playing so long. I have yet to playt he expansions and my character was unplayable due to the amount of mods I had in the game and the custom house I lost.

I played the game for a little but I got a little bored of it. From low levels you could easily go to Dren Plantation and nick all the good armour etc., then it was just a matter of lvling and passing the main quest.
No info on the music though. Look in the credits in the booklets for both games.

which house did you have, imp? and what mods?
i know how ya feel about characters in moorowind and
i know the starting parts like the back of my hand, due mainly in part to my machine back then not being able to handle the game totally.
best way to deal with mods is this....cut them down.
1 body smoothing mod, like better boddies, or mabaroshi daikons natural skins mod
(though, i like better bodies more, it give you options)
1 custom armour/clothing mod that you KNOW you will use the stuff from...like the Violet Le Fems boutique
1 home with custom icons (i use ghost who walks mod, Abandoned Flat)
and after that.....any and all mods you want, so long as they dont use and new meshes, icons or textures.....that is the important but, since it seems its the new stuff that slows the game down *grumble*
just befor i lost my old mainboard and had to change, i had a running time of almost exactly 28 mins, because i had so many mods in.
i would also recomend the..
jinato anti-shock mod (takes out the loud noises of fireballs and sword hits that make you jump lol)
real sighposts (nuff said, it makes all the signposts readable in english, so you dont need to mouse over them to know where your going)
Ring-Fix (fixes the black looking rings that you find all over the game)
and one of your faveourite races Rhedds Heads....his heads are wonderfull, low poly count works that have realy nice faces and hair to work with....
(and if you like a little cheating, but not the god mode stuff, try the Wizardly Wardrobe...a belt, 2 robes, pants, and a couple of amulets that mean you dont have to spend all the game working on your enchant skill, just to make a belt that lets you levitate or breathe under water constant effect)
theres lots of stuff you can do to make the game play faster, too....i got that help from gamefaqs morrowind tweeks faq, its not about cheating, its about maximising the games playability with shifting stuff like making veiw distance lowest, turning off shadows and changing the frames per second lower...helped my old machine run it...
though, imp, i think you mean your character was unplayable cause the mods are gon, even if your save was still there, right?
if thats not the case, just start the game, say continue loading anyway, every time it tells you theres an error (if it will let you) and then go into an incide area and take everything off....all clothes, items and dump everything that is mod related from your inventry, save, then try loading it up again. just make sure your in a normal area, not a moddedd area for this.

Jeremy Soule also did the music for some bioware stuff, and many other games. He is my favorite composer. His music amazes me because of how he actually composes it, being that I am musician. He uses machines to score his tracks, but records live orchestra on the final output. This is really neat to me. I think he is perhaps one of the most under appreciated and most influencial composers in games or out of them. His body of work is staggering, and I have never heard anything from him that was not superb. If you like his music, I also recommend you listen to Michael Hoenig, the composer for the Baldur's Gate II game, of which I have the soundtrack if anyone wants to hear it.
Nice thread

thorin, i doubt if my Baby can handle oblivion
sure, she has an athlon 64, but morrowind will only play right now in windowd mode, so i have to stick to my Xbox GotY edition...
mind you, its nice to be able to play in my room, with my cat curled up on my bed like a fury hot-water bottle and play into the wee hours on a bank holiday or when i have a tooth out (hopefully, no more for a while..ouchies)
i just have to be carefull not to run too fast over soltsheim lol..its a bugger when you fall THROUGH the floor and break your ankle on the sea bottom ^^
and game music...sure, morrowind has nice tunes, as does GW, specialy some of the jungle stuff.....but i like the stuff from the Black Mages and Castlevania:Symphony of the Night..wow, that one, Hidden Painting, man, that makes my eyes water every time i hear it, its just so...

Oh yeah, Castlevania: SOTN is definately the king of game soundtracks in my book.
Rayea, go buy yourself an Xbox 360 when it comes out so you can play Oblivion. It'll cost less than upgraded your PC would.

True, but getting it on the PC will allow for the Elder Scrolls Construction Set, which means two things, you can either screw your game up to a whole new level, OR you can turn the game into almost anything you want, which is good.
Plus unlike Morrowind, Oblivion will have lots or graphics settings you can turn up and down, so you can always have them low, and put them up when you get the parts, or even transfer your save game onto a new computer.

I feel the music in guildwars and morrowind is too athmospheric to be rememberable enough. there's no real melody that sticks in your head like with castlevania games. But then again it's the kind of game you'd spend many hours for many months at a time on, so very pronounces melodies would eventually be annoying.
Though not all the sound in castlevania SotN is great. Who can forget the incredible voice acting 'Die monster! You don't belong in this world!' 'Have at you!' and dark metamorphosis that sounds like 'dork metamorphosis' when he pronounces it.

well, Red, hon, try the conversions of morrowind to dagerfall?
theres a LotR one, but that sucks pants, cause if you accidentaly bumed into Frodo and he got *ahem* likked, you have to go back and start again, but meh....
as to the 360 being cheaper than a pc upgrade...nope, i can get a mainboard, chip and vid card for under 300 pounds, and theres no garentee that a 360 will be under 300 here....sides, like i did with my old tatty x box, i will wait till the prices come down, since to be honest, im only buying the machine to play one game to start with....
i have *counts*5 games for x box....about 10 for ps2 and...20+ for cube.... so you can see where my cash goes lol...and to be honest, i bought the x box *just* for the GotY morrownd....just like i bought the Ps2 for final fantasyx-2 and x...and a handfull of other rpg type games....
yet i knew i could get at least 10 games fro cube and same amount for ds when i bought them...so its just good sence for me...most of the games on box are not my taste..im holy-steamin-pants batman! useless at FPS games....driving games....anything thats not a platformer or rpg or action type, to be honest, and since the best hames for box n ps2 ARE the stuff im pants at, i just dont bother lol.

Am I a Morrowind fan? Hmm well there was a Guild Wars player in one of the Fire Islands missions named "Dahrk Mezalf" and I was like "DUUUUDE MORROWIND GHOST W00T" so yeah I guess I'm a fan.
I run a lot of mods when I play nowadays, since I have a monster laptop I bought to play Oblivion ^_^ (6800 Ultra, 2 gigs ram, blah blah). Better Bodies 2, Private Mobile Base (omg this thing has spoiled me, fast-travel all the way), a texture pack that makes Morrowind look like it came out last month (and makes even my laptop use a lot of its firepower when I turn all shadows and anti aliasing on and so forth), White Wolf of Lokken (so I have a really hardcore companion NPC with decent AI so it's like a henchman), Balmora Expanded (best mod ever), and some other stuff.
This is my 2nd playthrough; the first time I played without any mods so it would be a clean, fair runthrough. I almost collected every unique item in the game on that runthrough also.
I caught Almalexia's soul and Vivec's soul, and used Vivec's to power a ring I enchanted, to have it deal 100 weakness to frost and 100 frost damage in a 50 foot radius. I can fire it off like a machine gun since it's a magic ring, meaning I can basically go Darkseid on all of Vvardenfell and there's not a bloody thing those Indoril armor n00bs can do about it.
And yeah, I got to see a closed-doors showing of Oblivion while I was at E3 (media badge hell yeah!). It kicks the crap out of even Zelda: Twilight Princess, which I told the devs, and they were like "hmmm, strong words..." ^_^
I'm getting it for PC, since an Elder Scrolls w/o the Construction Toolset is just criminal. That editor owns.
I'm getting Xbox 360 for other killer stuff, such as Ninja Gaiden 2 and DOA 4. Team Ninja is just too good.
